On my birthday last month I wore my Herbivore hoodie (koala design on the back), sequined top from JCrew, belt also from Herbivore Clothing, Levi’s jeans, vegan Dr.Marten’s and a star headband/crown made by Giant Dwarf, an Etsy seller but I found this at Wanderlust here in Portland. Score! And! A beautiful, delicious and perfectly sized chocolate mini-cake from Back to Eden.

Maybe it’s because I tend to photograph my favorite outfits that I find myself always using the ‘favorite’ word. Favorite favorite favorite! So here I go again with a JCrew sweater, JCrew tights and Anthropologie shorts all found on sale (score!) with the boots I’m wearing ALL the time this winter, my cheapy Marc by Marc Jacobs rubber boots!

So, I like these pants. Not everyone likes these pants but I like these pants. They are sheer black lace with little shorts built in from Urban Outfitters. I’m wearing them here layered with black JCrew tights underneath for modesty. 😉 Sweater is also from JCrew, boots are Aerosole and striped top under the sweater is from Target.

My new iphone 4S photos are making me swoon. I’m thrilled to be able to get so close with this clarity. So, I’m wearing a little boy’s sweater from Target, old AG jeans, rubber biker boots from Urban Outfitters, bangles from India and Jcrew crew cuts glitter necktie.

These bracelets have quickly become a favorite. I bought them from my friend, Julie’s trunk sale that she hosted last December. Her very good friend of many years travels to India and buys directly from artists and explained in detail how they’re made and how fragile they are. I love them and I love knowing where they came from and who they traveled with to end up on my arm.

photoThere’s just something about wearing black. It’s easy and comfortable. I wish I could wear it more but I crave colors even though black feels so beautiful, simple and empowering. hmm maybe I should embrace simple more often.

Wearing: black sweater dress and lace cardigan from Target, JCrew black tights and Marc by Marc Jacobs black rubber boots.
