I wear stripes a lot. I layer a lot. And I’m a lot tired of wearing big warm coats and my boring little boys North Face jacket over my cute stripey layers. The sun needs to come out today.

The bow on this dress has always been a little off center and I tug on it while I wear the dress it’s attached to as if it’s eventually going to magically move. Silly me.

Maybe it’s because I tend to photograph my favorite outfits that I find myself always using the ‘favorite’ word. Favorite favorite favorite! So here I go again with a JCrew sweater, JCrew tights and Anthropologie shorts all found on sale (score!) with the boots I’m wearing ALL the time this winter, my cheapy Marc by Marc Jacobs rubber boots!

And I was back here by the pool and on the beach again. Wearing map leggings, again. Some things are just too perfectly comfortable and fab to not wear again as soon as they’re out of the wash.

This dress from Prairie Underground always reminds me of our trip to Bodie, California in the summer of 2010. Maybe some ghosts snuck into the fabric. In the above photo I’m wearing the dress with crazy geometric tights from Anthropologie and Marc by Marc Jacobs rubber boots. In the Bodie photos I’m wearing it with some old biker boots that I’ve since given away.
There’s just something about wearing black. It’s easy and comfortable. I wish I could wear it more but I crave colors even though black feels so beautiful, simple and empowering. hmm maybe I should embrace simple more often.
